Full Scholarships for Higher Education Programs in Israel
The government of Israel and other parties have decided to fund two higher education programs that will enable each year 60 students to obtain degrees of higher learning (in Israel) on a full scholarship, and obtain further financial benefits and intensive training in exchange for a commitment to work in the public sector in Israel. The idea is to nurture a critical mass of well trained civil servants that will help improve our society.
The two programs are described below:
At the Hebrew University, "Civil Service Cadets" - (the program is being promoted in a campaign on the radio and in newspapers).
The program is designed for outstanding graduates with a Bachelor's or Master's Degree. The program grants a Master's Degree in Public Policy from the Hebrew University School of Foreign Studies. The program includes intensive field training in the Israeli public sector and in different part of Israeli society. After obtaining their degrees, the Cadets will commit to work for the State of Israel for at least 4 years. The program includes a full tuition scholarship and monthly salary and intensive mentorship. For more details go to: http://www.tzoarim.gov.il/
At Ben Gurion University, "Atidim - Municipal Cadets" -
The program offers its participants a three-year training period that combines an undergraduate degree at Ben Gurion University with training in policy and public administration on the Municipal Level. Preference given to applicants from the periphery. The program includes a full scholarship and monthly stipend.
