NATIONAL COMPETITION: BUSINESS FOR PEACE

Call for proposals for cooperative business or economic projects for nurturing the peace process between Israel and the Palestinian Authority Economic cooperation is essential for the promotion of peaceful coexistence. The complex political situation demands an imaginative approach to seeking solutions that will lead to cooperation between Israelis and Palestinians.

The Guilford Glazer Faculty of Business and Management is launching a competition – Business for Peace – inviting faculty and students from all academic institutions in Israel to present groundbreaking proposals for advancing the Palestinian economy and promoting economic cooperation between the two sides.

The Aim of the Competition:
To stimulate and encourage students and scholars to participate in developing proposals for projects and economic and business models that can improve the economic situation and welfare of the Palestinians and thereby facilitate peace, coexistence and collaboration between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.

Please note that the competition is for proposals and not the actual implementation.

Eligibility:
The competition is open to students and faculty members of all institutions of higher learning in Israel.

Fields in which proposals are welcomed:

Manufacturing, services, tourism, outsourcing, start-ups, marketing, training programs, infrastructure projects, R&D, healthcare, transportation, environment, education, law and regulations, public administration, information systems, cleantech, energy, water, banking, financial services, insurance and social services.

Awards:

Three prizes will be awarded:
First prize: US$20,000
Second prize: US$10,000
Third prize: US$5,000
