Video Blog: Clean the Land
By Sam Silverlieb, receipient of an ROI Micro Grant. Sam organized "Clean the Land" to bring people together in order to achieve an important envrironmental goal and much, much more.
Clean the Land is modeled on Clean Australia Day. The vision for Clean the Land is that it will evolve into an annual Israeli tradition that is recognized by the government and incorporated into the national calendar. Besides the obvious benefit of cleaning up the litter from Israel's parks, beaches, and cities, Clean the Land will ultimately build strong communal bonds between all people in Israel: Israelis and visiting Diaspora Jews, Israeli Jews and Israeli Arabs, urbanites and suburbanites, etc. Clean the Land will build a greater awareness of how each individual has the ability to make a difference in maintaining the gift that is the only Jewish state in the world.
