Esther's Fall Schedule

Greetings, everyone...some of the 2011ers don't know me as well as the ROIers from previous years, but I wanted to reach out to all of you together, to share with you my fall travel schedule, and hoping that I'll be able to see as many of you as possible over the next few months.

I'm based in Los Angeles, so I hope many of you will consider visiting us here. The weather's lovely most of the time and there's lots to do. You may have even heard that there's an entire movie industry here! Well, I can't get you a walk-on role on any TV shows, but there's other stuff. So let me know when you're due here!

September 15-20 I'll be in San Francisco/Berkeley area, for Opening the Dor on Monday night September 19, where I'll be co-presenting with Sarah Lefton and perhaps seeing many of you Bay Area people. Check it out and RSVP here: https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=264581633554798

October 12-16, will be in Fair Lawn, NJ for Sukkot with my family. If any of you needs a place for a Sukkot meal, feel free to speak up. I may try to get into NYC on Sunday before flying out at night, but am not sure yet.

November 4-8 brings me to Denver, CO for the Jewish Federations of North America General Assembly. If any of you are planning to be there, do let me know so I can make sure you know about some of the cool social and professional content that will be happening there.

And in December, I'm trying to go to London again - not sure for how long, but will at least be there the 13-18.

So that's it for right now, but hoping some of you will reach out to say hey and keep me updated on your exciting projects...

Love from Los Angeles,
Esther (esther@roicommunity.org)

A project you might find curious

Dear ROI'ers,

I'd like to share with you the project I am currently working with: Eshkolot, a Taste of Ideas. In a nutshell, it's an edutainment initiative which holds Jewish culture-related events in Moscow.

You may wonder how on Earth something in Russian maybe of interest to most of you. Well, we do have an English Twitter account, posting more than just our day-to-day announcements, check it out. It's my job to take care of our social media face, so I'd love some input, to. Anyone we should be following and retweeting?

And most importantly, we are working to have all of the videos from our events subtitled into English. You'll see we have some very interesting people working with us, including, most recently, Robbie Gringras and Moshe Idel! We're also polishing our live streaming skills as we speak.

Please feel free to follow, comment, share, and use our videos in any way you like. We don't want to limit ourselves to just Moscow, so let's be friends!

Have a great week,
Olga Lempert (@taste_of_ideas)
Er, to clarify and to react to the ROI tweet (thanks!), this is not my project, I am just the social media gal:) The mastermind behind the whole thing is @parizh, a graduate of Amitei Yerushalayim and an all-round clever guy.
