Challah for Hunger bakes and sells challah to raise money and awareness for social justice causes. In the process, CfH builds community and bridges between communities, trains leaders, teaches critical philanthropy and change-making, and inspires. CfH started at Scripps College in November, 2004 and now has almost thirty chapters, mostly on college campuses in the U.S. The chapters bake challah in a variety of flavors, from chocolate chip and cinnamon sugar to sun-dried tomato/basil and garlic. Each chapter donates half of its profits to our national cause (currently Darfur, through the American Jewish World Service) and chooses what causes/organizations to support with the other half of its profits.
