Izzy Ezagui grew up in Sunny Florida. At the age of 18, he jumped on a plane to Israel and experianced Birthright Israel. He quickly connected to the soldiers who joined his group and silently vowed to one day come back to Israel and join the IDF. Within a year, he realized his dream and found himself training alongside Israeli soldiers. Just as he finished his training a war broke out on the border of Gaza. Three weeks into the battle he was hit by a mortar that took off his left and dominant arm. After many months of intense rehabilitation, Izzy decided that this would not be the end of his military career. He went head first into a long battle with the IDF in order to convince them that he still had what it took to be a combat soldier. Eventually, he won and was returned to combat. Izzy went on to be the first soldier ever to finish the intense four-month course for commander training with such a severe injury. He led thirteen soldiers through their training and received an award from the President of Israel.
Izzy recently finished his military career and is writing an autobiography that he knows will one day inspire people and give them the hope and willpower to realize their dreams. Izzy has spoken at many different charitable events that benefit soldiers, disabled veterans and victims of terror. Izzy also plans on engaging in motivational speaking for Jewish and secular audiences.
