Noga Zohar is the new executive director of Shvuat ha-Adamah/Earthís Promise. After completing a masterís degree in environmental biology and after years of diverse educational work, environmental activism and of growing vegetables and flowers, it was time for local action.
Moving around from the United States to Israel in various locations, studying cinema and traveling whenever possible, one thing become clear: despite the city girl she is, she just loves looking at leaves and watching spiders. During biology studies at Ben Gurion University, she became involved in Green Course, the student environmental organization. She was also involved with community and educational projects with Bedouin children. As Noga continued her studies at Haifa University, she also ran a community empowerment project with Ethiopian immigrants. Now, after a year in a permaculture farm in Nahalal, she's moving back to Beíer Sheva to promote sustainable community-based projects.
