Renato Huarte Cuéllar studied education and philosophy at Mexico's National University where he currently teaches the philosophy of education. He also studied anthropology and is writing a Ph.D. thesis on the subject, Translation and Education in the Philosophy of Martin (Mendelssohn X) Buber. He received a grant to study Jewish education at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He is also a dancer and a choreographer and has worked for several Jewish institutions and on several educational projects in Mexico, Venezuela, Argentina, Israel and Russia.
Renato has worked in the area of Jewish identity within different educational realms, particularly for secular Jews. He was a counselor at Hashomer Hatzair and has worked with Jewish youth movements in Mexico and Latin America. After working for the Hagshama Department and other Zionist institutions, Renato is now chair of the first ever Limmud in Mexico City.
