After completing a degree in Political Science from Montreal’s McGill University, Canadian-born Yonatan Ben-Dor immigrated to Israel. Shortly after his release from the army in 2004, he joined Joseph Gitler and helped to developed Table to Table (Leket Israel), now one of Israel’s leading non-profit organizations. In 2008, after completing law school at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Yonatan founded IsraelGives.org (and its Hebrew equivalent IsraelToremet.org). IsraelGives.org is now Israel’s main non-profit portal, and the world’s main website for charitable donating to Israel. IsraelGives.org currently helps over 700 non-profit organizations to fundraise, engage the public, and to bring attention to their activities. In December 2010, IsraelGives.org mobilized Israel’s non-profit community to respond to the Carmel fires, and created the Carmel Relief Fund, which provided logistic and financial support to thousands of Israelis affected by the fires.
