Yvonne Feiger graduated from the University of Vienna in 2007. From 2004 to 2010 she was actively involved in promoting and enhancing Jewish life in Austria. This dedication aroused by taking responsibility at the Union of Jewish Students in Austria and led to becoming a board member of the Jewish community of Vienna for Gesher, a political fraction that represents the upcoming generation of Viennese Jews.
Besides her activism in the Jewish community she used to be deputy chairperson of the National Union of Students in Austria at the University of Vienna, and consultant for human rights and social politics at the headquarters of the National Union of Students in Austria.
Yvonne was working as director for The Jewish Salons in Vienna. The Jewish Salons is an international arts & culture project, of which the main task lies in enlarging the spectrum of Jewish life and developing a non-institutional and open cultural space. Since 2010 Yvonne is an active member of the World Jewish Diplomatic Corps. In Summer 2010 she co-organized the Muslim Jewish Conference in Vienna, targeting the lack of communication and contribute to a long-term change towards mutual appreciation. The MJC 2011 will take place in Kiev, Ukraine in July.
Yvonne recently moved to New York City to study International Education at the New York University. She is President of the International Education Student Board and University Senator for the Graduate Student Organization at the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. She is member of the Youth Advisory Committee of the UN DPI NGO conference in Bonn, Germany in September 2011.
